Matthew McGowan
Funeral Director
(309) 962-3191

Matthew McGowan was born and raised in the small Southeastern Illinois town of Eldorado. As Matt so aptly put it, Eldorado is "waaay down there...about 4 hours from here." Matt graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 1995 where he earned his degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service. After graduating from SIU, Matt moved to Champaign, Illinois where he began his funeral directing career and subsequently spent the next four years. Matt started working at the Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Homes in October of 1999. He spends most of his time at the LeRoy location, but helps to serve at all of the Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Homes. When he is not working, Matt enjoys spending time with his daughters, Mattie and Macie. Matt also enjoys archery and deer hunting. In addition, Matt has been a stamp collector since he was six years old and "got serious" about the hobby when he was ten. Says Matt sarcastically, "I have a couple stamps." Matt is a member of the LeRoy Kiwanis Club, a supporter of LeRoy athletics, and has been active with the LeRoy Junior High and High School track teams since 2010, where he helps the shot put and discus throwers. Regarding his extended residency in LeRoy, Matt readily admits that "after spending so many years in these communities, I have developed many relationships and friendships. I have spent more years here (LeRoy) than my own home town of Eldorado. I might be getting to the point that LeRoy can consider me as 'one of her own', but I'll need to check on that."

Brandon T. Kuhn
Funeral Director
(309) 962-3191

Brandon is a native of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and has represented Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Homes since 2008. A self proclaimed "comic book nerd", Brandon also enjoys cooking, golf, travel, and especially music, where he has attended at least two live musical performances a year for the past 15 years. Brandon readily recounts the friendliness that was shown to him by the small central Illinois communities that he serves, and he especially appreciates the interaction that he experiences with these people and the opportunity to build everlasting memories with those same individuals who are in need. As an owner of a variety of pets and a caregiver to all types of animals, Brandon could easily have ended up as a veterinarian if he weren't serving families at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Homes. Brandon's passion for animals is evident in his own home where he and his spouse Jessica care for five Chinese Crested dogs.

Chris Bozarth
Funeral Director
(309) 962-3191

Chris grew up in Fairfield, Illinois where he met his wife of 30 plus years and together, they have one daughter and one grandson. A skilled woodworker and craftsman, Chris especially enjoys pen turning on a wood lathe and wood design. When asked what he would be doing if he weren’t serving families at Calvert Funeral Homes, Chris quickly acknowledged that he would enjoy “building custom furniture for interested individuals and families”. This care, creativity, and craftsmanship has carried over into his career, as Chris’ care for families is seen in his daily responsibility as a funeral director. Chris is a 1994 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale with an A.A.S. in Mortuary Science and he has worked for Calvert Funeral Homes since 2004.

Since 2007, Calvert Funeral Homes has given Chad the opportunity to represent a premier company and build a partnership with the community through marketing and public events. When not working, you can find Chad enjoying sports, movies, reading, traveling or at Bible study.
