Every year since its heralded inception in 2008, the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home McLean County Senior Expo has sold out of vendor space, and the 2017 Expo is on pace to accomplish this feat once again. Booth Vendor space and Table Vendor space is still available for the September 6th offering, but less than 40% of total inventory remains. To reserve your vendor space or to learn more about this massive community event, please respond to the links located at the bottom of this page. The McLean County Senior Expo is a partnership with our communities, and the collaboration of vendors and visitors and their desire to spend a day together makes this event one worth attending!
Educational institutions, religious organizations, and 70+ McLean County food pantries will reap the rewards of this great community event!
From April 1st through September 6th, Hy-Vee, The Fresh Market, and all Bloomington/Normal Jewel-Osco locations will display large Drop Site bins in their respective stores to collect non-perishable food item donations. Shoppers and donors will be encouraged to support this community cause by filling these bins regularly. Other Drop Site locations where non-perishable food items can be delivered include Midwest Food Bank, Radio Bloomington, Denny's Doughnuts & Bakery, and Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home. During this time, McLean County public/private schools and churches/religious institutions and their students, congregants, teachers, leaders, administrators, and family members will partner together and participate in the Calvert Cares Community Food Drive "Food Fight". This fun and competitive event will award the educational institution and the religious organization (that donates the most non-perishable food items based on total weight) with cash and food prizes. Food fight forms can be found at any of the aforementioned locations, and participants of the Calvert Cares Community Food Drive Food Fight are encouraged to fill out their "Food Fight" forms and drop them in their bag or box of non-perishable food items to credit their favorite educational or religious entity!
