Obituary for Amy Lynn Breyne-Bogacz

Amy Lynn Breyne Bogacz, 34, of Wenona, IL passed away at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator, IL.

Amy was born June 5, 1984 in Peru, IL the daughter of Michael J. and Nancy J. Sunken Breyne. She married Scott C. Bogacz on January 23, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. He survives along with one daughter Charlotte Rose “Charlie” Bogacz at home. Also surviving are her parents Mike and Nancy Breyne of Wenona, three sisters Erin Breyne (Joe Myers) of East Peoria, Sarah Breyne of Streator, and Kelly (Zach) Richardson of Virginia Beach, VA, one brother Daniel Breyne of Wenona, two nieces Emma Myers and Mila Breyne-Magana, her maternal grandmother Dorothy Sunken of Wenona, paternal grandmother Anita Breyne of Rutland and mother-in-law Barbara Bogacz of Kankakee. She was preceded in death by an infant brother Michael.

Amy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Toluca.

Charlie, her daughter, was Amy’s world and the two were inseparable. Amy was a talented, brilliant, creative artist recently completing a mural at the Wenona Coal Mine and contributing her talents to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wenona during their refurbishing. She used her creativity in the kitchen developing new and innovative recipes one of which is now used at Walt Disney World. She was a great lover of animals often rescuing and nursing them to health. She was busy restoring a Victorian home and its garden where she lived in Wenona.

With a smile that lit up a room, Amy never knew a stranger. Her generous, fun-loving, caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Cremation rites were accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday November 26 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Toluca with Pastor Mary Kay Henson officiating. Internment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Toluca. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday November 25 at the church. Memorials may be made to the FOD Group for research and support for children with VLCADD in honor of her niece.

Calvert-Johnson and Froelich Memorial Home, Toluca, IL is assisting the family with services.
