Brigitte was born in Frankenbach, Germany, on February 12, 1934, and grew up during WWII. She met her husband, Donald R. Jensen, while stationed in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1954 to 1957. They were married in Heuchelheim, Kreis Giessen/Lahn, Germany, on November 2, 1956. Donald R. Jensen preceded November 13, 2017.

Brigitte was also preceded in death by her mother, Paula Schneider Becker; father, Jacob Becker; brother, Willie; sister, Gertrude. Surviving are one brother, Karl Heinz; son, David R. (Kaori) Jensen; daughters, Linda C. (Chad) Covert and Donna M. Brent; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend our love and appreciation to Pam Norfleet-Glaub and Charlotte VanMeter, her friends and caregivers. These two assisted with her care so that Brigitte could remain in her home that she loved.

Brigitte owned and operated "Salon Brigitte" in Bloomington for many years. She was a true entrepreneur and owned several businesses. She also was the "Welcoming Hostess" for new businesses in the Bloomington/Normal area. Brigitte's priority always was being a homemaker and caring for her family. She had great love and devotion for her family, especially her grandchildren.

Brigitte had a passion for baking delicious German pastries and cakes for the family and won several baking contests. Brigitte also had a place in her heart for people in need and donated a lot of time and effort to local nursing homes. She also spent time with the homeless and was always willing to do whatever she could to help someone in need.

Brigitte had a strong Christian Faith and was always willing to share her testimony. She has now gone to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior.
