Carla K Highland Obituary (1971 - 2018)

Carla K. Highland, 46 of Pontiac, IL died Sunday March 11, 2018 at 5:40AM at her residence. Her funeral will be held on Friday March 16, 2018 at 11:00AM at the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac with Rev. Tim Hubert officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery, rural Pontiac, IL. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00PM at the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac. Memorials in Carla's name may be made to Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac is handling the arrangements. Carla was born on November 19, 1971 in Pontiac, a daughter of Perry and Sherrill (Beecher) Wilson. She married Scott Highland on March 18, 1995. He survives in Pontiac; Also surviving are her parents: Perry and Sherrill Wilson of Pontiac; one sister: Trina (Ted) Whittle of Pontiac; her father-in-law: Doug Highland of Cornell, IL; sister-in-law: Amanda (Jim) Walsberg of Cornell, IL; nieces and nephews: Blake Whittle, Brooke Whittle, Hayden Walsberg, Emma Walsberg and Mason Walsberg; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Carla was preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Nancy Highland and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Carla was a 1990 graduate of Pontiac Township High School and 1992 graduate of Joliet Junior College. She was an administrative assistant at State Farm for twenty-five years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church-Pontiac. Carla was enthusiastic about life and a kind, loving person. She lived her life rich with family and friends. She embraced each moment of her life with her warm heart and gentle spirit. Carla will long be remembered in the hearts and lives of those she loved. She left us too soon and leaves a void that cannot be filled.
