Erla M. Meier Obituary (1928 - 2019)

Erla M. Meier, 90, of Pontiac IL died Sunday July 14, 2019 at 8:40 PM at The Pointe in Pontiac, IL. Her funeral will be held on Thursday July 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac with Rev. Canessa Lagan of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, rural Pontiac, IL. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services at the funeral home. Memorials in Erla's name may be made to The Pointe of Pontiac or Transitions Hospice . Erla was born on August 5, 1928 in Gardner, IL, a daughter of Erlan and Meta (Sorensen) Louch. She married Orville E. Meier on December 12, 1947 in Pontiac, IL. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2010. Survivors include: One son: Larry (Peg) Meier of Pontiac, IL; three grandchildren: Jerold (Karen) Meier of Chenoa, IL., Kari (Blue) Schramm of Chenoa, IL. and Rod (Nikki) Meier of Pontiac, IL; four great grandchildren: Alex, Izzy, Paige, and Jacob Meier; two sisters: Shirley Cryder of Morris, IL and Kay (Fay) Clover of Gardner, IL. Erla was preceded in death by one brother in law: Jim Cryder. Erla was a 1946 graduate of Gardner-South Wilmington High School. She was employed at Sears and later was the secretary for the Building Inspector for the city of Pontiac from 1976-1984. Erla enjoyed camping, pottery and reading.
