Hubert J Fisher Jr. Obituary (1937 - 2018)

Hubert J. Fisher Jr., 80, of Lexington, IL passed away at 6:35 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Heritage Health, El Paso. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lexington with Fr. Carl Lo Presti officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his church. Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Memorial Home, Lexington is assisting the family with services. Hubert was born August 31, 1937 in Peoria, IL the son of Hubert J. and Mary Florence Austin Fisher Sr. He married Sherlyn Y. Otto on September 17, 1958 in Delavan, IL. She survives along with three children Kim (Brett) Toillion of El Paso, Micki (Karl) Nalley of Wood River and Bryan Fisher of Lexington; three sisters Elizabeth Bailey and Mary Steege both of Hopedale, and Josephine Blobaum of Carthage, MO; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, one son Hubert "Joey" Fisher III, one brother James, one sister Julia Sullivan, and one great granddaughter Angel Marie Nalley. Hubert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lexington and was a life time member of the Plumber's and Pipefitter's Local #99. He and Sherlyn spent winters in Texas and he loved to fish and bird watching. He was a loving husband, dad, brother, grandpa, and great grandpa who enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
