Obituary for Leona Mussari

Leona M. Mussari, 81 of Ottawa, IL. formerly of Pontiac died Saturday June 8, 2019 at 12:30PM at LaSalle County Nursing Home, Ottawa, IL.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a visitation will be held on Thursday June 13, 2019 from 3:30-7:00PM at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, IL. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Pike Township Cemetery. Memorials in Leona’s name may be made to her family.
Leona was born on April 1, 1938 in Pontiac, IL. a daughter of Eldon and Thelma (Bolen) VanBuskirk. She married Allan Mussari on July 18, 1958 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2005. Survivors include: one daughter: Laura Mussari of Pontiac, IL; two granddaughters: Amber Mussari and Lauren (Edward Janke Jr) Mussari; nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Linda (Michael) Considine of Naperville, IL and Diana Goodman of Pontiac, IL; one brother: Larry (Barbara) VanBuskirk of Florida; one special aunt: Rita Bolen of Pontiac, IL. Leona was preceded in death by one son: Jerry Mussari and one daughter in infancy: Denise Mussari.
Leona was educated in Kansas schools and was owner-operator of Allan’s Pub & Grub in Pontiac with her husband Allan, where she loved doing all the cooking. Leona never met a stranger.. She was a member of Teamsters #710, St. Mary’s Church-Pontiac and Pontiac Elks Club.
The family would like to thank the LaSalle County Nursing Home and Vitas Hospice for their special care.
