Kyle Scott Rients, 30 of rural Pontiac, IL., died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 11:15 PM at his residence.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18thfrom 2:00-5:00 PM at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac.  Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation.  Memorials in Kyle’s name may be made to his son’s, Tyson education fund at the State Bank of Graymont, Pontiac, IL.

Kyle was born on August 26, 1986 in Pontiac, IL., a son of James A. and Robin (Pagel) Rients.  Survivors include his parents Jim and Robin Rients of rural Pontiac, IL.; one son: Tyson Rients of Pontiac, Il.; three brothers: Chad Long of Brimfield, CO., Rick Rients of Saunemin, IL. and Adam Rients of Frankfurt, KY.; maternal grandfather: Fritz Pagel of Pontiac, IL. and his long time friend: Mandy DuVall of Pontiac, IL. Kyle was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother and one brother: Joshua Long.

Kyle was educated in Pontiac schools and had been employed at Giovanini Metals and lastly at Technical Metals in Fairbury.

Robin and Jim. I am so sorry for your loss of Kyle. I remember when he was a little boy in Saunamin. I lost my son 5 yrs ago, the same way. I feel your pain and you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know you can't imagine this right now, but as time passes, the pain lessens, so it doesn't become all consuming.

Jim and Robin,my wife Lynn and I were very sad to hear of Kyle's passing. The times he spent at our house on weekends with our son Kevin,was like having a second son around. He was always kind and courteous and was respectful.Kevin and Kyle were always a blast to be around.Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to you and all of Kyle's friends and family.
