Andy Rieger, 70, of Forrest, IL passed away at 9:36 am on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Apostolic Christian Church in Forrest with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest and on Monday, from 9:00 to 9:45 am at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow services at Forrest Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury, Illinois.

Andy was born on March 18, 1947 in Fairbury, IL a son of Richard R. and Marian (Meister) Rieger.

He is survived by his siblings: Dick Rieger, Mary Bradley, Tom Rieger, and Matilda “Til” (Harry) Johnson all of Forrest, IL; one sister-in-law: Diane Rieger of Fairbury, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Ron, and one brother-in-law: Daniel Bradley.

Andy was from Forrest all his life, graduating from Forrest-Strawn-Wing in 1965. He was a farmer all his life.

He was one of the longest living kidney transplant receivers at forty-six years. Andy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends outdoors. He will be greatly missed.

Daniel P. Bradley, 72, of Forrest, passed away at 1:16 pm on Monday May 29, 2017 at his residence.

His funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Forrest Apostolic Christian Church in Forrest with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery in rural Fairbury with military rites. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday June 2, 2017 at the Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest, and from 9:00-9:45 am on Saturday at the Church. Memorials in his name may be left to the Forrest Apostolic Christian Church. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest is handling the Arrangements.

Daniel was born on December 4, 1944 a son of John Andrew and Ruth (Landrus) Bradley Sr. He Married Mary Rieger in Cropsey, IL on December 2, 1967, She survives of Forrest. Other survivors include two sons: Daniel L. (April) Bradley of fairbury, IL, James Bradley (Jenna Boleyn) of Iowa; one daughter: Amanda (Robert L.) Dentermann of Davenport, IA; three sisters: Judy (Frank) Ford, Donna (Richard) Perry and Arlene (Clifton) Nasalroad all of Yale, OK; one brother: John (Dawn) Bradley of fairbury, IL; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a Brother Bob Bradley and sister Doris Hiberling.

Daniel served our country in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post 2791 in Fairbury and Cropsey United Methodist Church.

Richard D. Manlove, 78 of rural Forrest, IL., died on Memorial Day Monday May 29, 2017 at 4:53PM at his residence surrounded by loved ones.

Richard was born on March 31, 1939 in Chicago, IL. He married Donna Strobel on February 8, 1958 in Villa Park, IL.  She survives in rural Forrest, IL.  Also surviving are his daughter Christine (Kerry) Knippen of Wheaton, IL. Ten grandchildren: Kyle, Molly and Jake (Amanda) Kiebles; Aubree (Adam) Anderson, Domenico Vollriede, Anthony (Roxanne) Greenwell, Justin (Courtney) Greenwell, Ashley Oliver, and Kayne and Cole Knippen;  Six great grandchildren: Alaina and Axel Anderson, Dominic and Zane Greenwell, Addison and Averie Greenwell. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Esther (Wood) Manlove and his sister Susan Manlove.

Richard was a graduate of Glenbard West High School.  He was a sheet metal worker for Local #265, a real estate agent, worked for the Illinois Tollway and retired as a code enforcement officer at the village of Carol Stream.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church- Forrest.  He was a true American with great passion and Pride for his country and the men and women who have served and continue to do so. He was very active in the NRA and was a master craftsman with his wood working.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 3:00PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Forrest, IL. with Rev. Corinne Blissard officiating.  A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00PM on Saturday at the church.  Memorials in Richard’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Shriner’s.  Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Forrest, IL. is handling the arrangements.

Galen W. Haren, 73, of Cullom, IL passed away at 9:28 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Gilman, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Forrest United Methodist Church with Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the church. Private family inurnment will be held at Sullivan Center Cemetery in rural Cullom, IL, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cullom Junior Fair or the Forrest United Methodist Church.

Galen was born September 19, 1943 in Streator, IL a son of Rollo and Alice (Kramer) Haren. He married Joan Augsburger on August 4, 1963 at Charlotte River Church. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Lynne Feldkamp of Cullom, IL, Leslie (Ken) Haren- Friesz of Fountain, CO, and Agga (Jolene) Haren of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren: Kyle (Taylor Clark) and Katelyn Feldkamp, Joshua (Jamylia) Haren, Breanna Daniel, Dalen Friesz, Jeremy Haren; one great grandson: Khai Haren; two sisters: Donna (Gerald) Buckler of Pontiac, IL and Marjorie Hahn of Cullom, IL, three step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Philip Haren, and one brother-in-law: Bob Hahn.

Galen was educated at Charlotte River School thru eighth grade then going to Cullom High School. He farmed his whole life. He enjoyed farming, showing pigs, and the Cullom Junior Fair.

He was a member of the Forrest United Methodist Church, Cullom Junior Fair Association, and Tri-Point FFA Alumni Association.

Marjorie J. Kuntz, 89, a resident of Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury, IL formerly of Forrest, IL, passed away at 2:14 am on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

She was a member of the Forrest Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:15 am on Wednesday, prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place following services at the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery in rural Fairbury, IL. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest is handling arrangements for the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury.

Marjorie was born June 3, 1927 in rural Forrest, IL a daughter of Sam and Lydia (Sohn) Maier. She married Leland E. Kuntz on November 26, 1949 in Fairbury, IL. He passed away on January 29, 2011.

She is survived by one daughter, Carla (Curtis) Stoller of Gridley; one son, Kevin Kuntz of Forrest; three granddaughters, Carrie (Troy) Blunier of Oakbrook Terrace, IL; Christy Stoller of Croton on Hudson, NY, and Chelli Stoller of Princeton, IL; three great grandsons: Peter, Lincoln and Miles Blunier; her siblings: Thelma Maier of Forrest, IL and Vernon (Beth) Maier of Fairbury, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one infant granddaughter.

Marjorie was a homemaker as well as working at Forrest Savings and Loan until 1986 and being the Forrest Township Clerk for many many years.

She enjoyed seeing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marjorie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Pauline Wiegand 89 of Pontiac, IL., passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at 9:55PM at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at 10:00AM at the Apostolic Church of Forrest in Forrest, IL. with church ministers officiating. Burial will be in North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Forrest, IL. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 5-7PM at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest, IL. There will be an additional visitation on Wednesday morning from 9:00-9:45AM at the Church. Pauline was born on September 19, 1927 in Quincy, IL., a daughter of Dorman and Catherine (Greaver) Hall. She married Joseph R. Wiegand Sr. on July 14, 1945 in Quincy, IL. He passed away March 31, 1991.

She is survived by daughters: Dinah (Jim) Leenders, Alice (Charles) Crego, Sandra (Mark) Lewis, Elizabeth (William) Tolbert all of Pontiac, IL.; sons, Joseph R. (Barbara) Wiegand Jr. of Conroe, TX, William (Darlene) Wiegand of Cookeville, TN.; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

Pauline was a member of the Forrest Apostolic Church and farmed alongside her husband for many years. She also was a furniture seamstress. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. Loved doing puzzles and put dozens together over the years.

Jane L. Fidler, 88, of Strawn, IL passed away at 11:22 am on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Piper City Rehab and Living Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest with Pastor Ed Bunt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow services at Forrest Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jane’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Jane was born November 12, 1928 in Wurtland, KY a daughter of Ottis and Maggie (Horn) Bishop. She married Richard B. Fidler on July 29, 1947in Orleans, IN. He passed away on March 3, 1993.

She was survived by her children: Bruce Fidler of Strawn, IL, Steven (Paula) Fidler of Princeton, LA, Denise Heinds of Pontiac, IL, and Chris Fidler of Kokomo, IN; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters: Mary Jones of Florida, Faye Davidson of Camby, IN, and Sue Jupin of Forrest, IL. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Richard K. Fidler; and her siblings: Barb, Leona, David, Wayne, Buddy, and one infant sister.

Jane was a school nurse’s aide and also did childcare for many years. She loved to travel, play bingo, and spend time with her family.

She was a loving mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Johnnie R. Vaughan, 72, of Forrest, IL passed away at 2:21 am on Monday, November 14, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Forrest United Methodist Church with Reverends Deb Honegger and Roosevelt Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. According to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with inurnment to follow services at Forrest Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to SELCAS or Forrest-Strawn-Wing Fire Protection District.

Johnnie was born May 2, 1944 in Fairbury, IL a son of Freeman L. and Lee Ruth (Roy) Vaughan. He first married Linda Lou Goembel on October 20, 1963. She passed away on November 17, 1979. He then married Peggy Jean Alexander on December 9, 1983 in Gibson City, IL. She passed away on December 26, 2014.

He is survived by his children: Todd Vaughan of Forrest, IL, Sheila (Mark) Davenport of Epworth, GA, Joe (Teresa Diemer) Vaughan of Pontiac, IL, and Sam Vaughan (Doug Bonner) of Huber Heights, OH; four grandchildren: Katy Davenport, Kelsey Vaughan, Andrew Vaughan, and Kara Bonner; and one great granddaughter: Alaina Davenport; and his siblings: James (Sharon) Vaughan, Michael (the Late Darlis) Vaughan, Richard (Peggy) Vaughan, Mary Ann Vaughan, and Thomas Vaughan all of Forrest, Illinois.

Johnnie was raised in the Forrest schools. He was an over-the-road truck driver for over 54 years. His handle was “Night Hawk”. Johnnie liked NASCAR especially his famous driver, Richard Petty.

He loved his family and spending time with them. Johnnie was a loving dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend who will be greatly missed.

Betty June Leeper, 91, of Forrest, IL, passed away at 12:24 am on Tuesday, November 08, 2016 at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Forrest United Methodist Church with Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will follow services at Forrest Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Forrest United Methodist Church, Forrest American Legion Auxiliary, or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest is handling arrangements for the family.

Betty was born August 5, 1925 in Forrest, IL a daughter of Roy and Florence (Shambrook) Newman. She married Donald William Leeper on November 9, 1946 in Forrest, IL. He passed away on February 23, 1992.

She is survived by her children: Mike Leeper of Sun City Center, FL and Mary (Kenneth) Lehmann of Forrest, IL; three grandchildren: Allison (Victor) Martinez, Kelly Leeper (Justin Stafford), and Amber Lehmann; and three great grandchildren: Miles and Carter Martinez, and Shelby Buchanan. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; daughter-in-law: Barb; one grandson: Brad Lehmann; and three siblings: Delores Moore, John Newman, and Mary Wait.

Betty was a lifelong resident who knew and loved all things Forrest.  She loved her family and friends more than anything and enjoyed daily coffee hour with her girlfriends.  She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the Forrest United Methodist Church. Betty was active with Meals on Wheels and the Food Pantry. Betty’s quick-wit and feisty demeanor will be missed and cherished by many.

Donna Joanne Huber, 85, of Fairbury, IL passed away at 6:50 am on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury, with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest and from 9-9:45 am on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow services in the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community or the Salvation Army.

Donna Joanne was born December 27, 1930 in Strawn, IL a daughter of Charles and Flossie (Sheppard) Kuntz. She married Jesse Richard Huber on January 30, 1954 in Fairbury, IL. He passed away on January 9, 2011.

She is survived by two sons; Richard (Dawn) Huber and Keith (Susan) Huber, both of Fairbury, two daughters; Christa (Verle) Sauder, Hancock, MN, Ann (Keven) Hofstetter, Washington, IL; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one brother: Dale (Helen) Kuntz of Pekin, IL; and one sister-in-law: Donna Kuntz of Morton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one brother: Donald Kuntz; and one sister: Doris Shilts.

Donna Joanne was a 1948 graduate of Strawn High School. She did clerical work, owning and operating J.R. Electric together with her husband, Jesse, from 1972- 1993.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Fairbury since 1957.
