A graduate of Normal Community High School, Heartland Community College, and Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois, Terri Messer is no stranger to central Illinois. While Terri is from Normal, Illinois, her fascinating family history goes even deeper. Not only was Terri's family some of the first settlers in McLean County, but she also lives on a 5th generation farm, while her family has a historical log home in Lexington, Illinois called Patton Cabin. Terri's love for family and history have only helped to enhance her passion for Pontiac and the surrounding communities served by Calvert & Martin Funeral Homes. In Terri's words, "Everyone knows one another, and everyone looks out for each other. It is very family oriented." Terri and her husband Brian are the proud parents of a son (Jaxson) and daughter (Kaitlyn) and their beloved dog (Peanut). When Terri is not assisting and guiding families through a difficult time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, traveling, and especially researching her extensive family genealogy.

Elizabeth N. Weikle

Elizabeth's small-town roots run deep, and her work with a local non-profit in her tiny, hometown community only strengthened her passion for people that call these rural towns "home". As Elizabeth so perfectly put it, "I know how important community involvement is and how much it can make a difference." Though her career began in 2019 with Calvert & Martin Funeral Homes, Elizabeth readily recounts the many deaths that befell her family; and thus the reason she appreciates the opportunity to "help families that are going through this same process." A lover of music and the proud owner of a record player and countless records, Elizabeth loves the challenge of doing and completing the many puzzles that she has collected while enjoying the vast array of music that comprises her extensive audio library.

Evan Calvert

Evan is a fourth-generation director.  Educated at Carthage College and Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Evan is pleased to be working with his family and serving families throughout Central Illinois.  He lives in Bloomington and enjoys being a part of the community. Evan chose to be a funeral director simply because he feels the need to serve families with the kindness, care, and compassion that only a family-operated funeral home can.  When not working, he enjoys golf, fishing, and spending time with family and his dog, Mooney.  His dream job would be to play on the PGA tour with his Dad as his caddy!

Bill Cole

Bill spent thirty four years as an insurance adjuster and joined Calvert & Martin Funeral Homes in 1994. His love for people is experienced by everyone he meets, especially those that he greets and assists at the funeral home, And he readily admits that “driving the limo” is one of his many favorite tasks. Bill and his wife Kathy (whom he has been married to for over 50 years) enjoy vacationing in San Diego, California and have two daughters, Diane And Nancy, and a black cat named Sooty.

Shannon Sheehan-Eakle
Advance Planning Director
(815) 844-5151

Shannon grew up in St. Peter, Minnesota and attended Mankato State University, where she met and married her first husband Kevin. Kevin and Shannon had four "beautiful" children (Nichole, Connor, Kennedy & Meghan) and left their home state for Bloomington, Illinois in 1998. Sadly, Kevin passed away in 2004, and it was this tragic event that encouraged her career choice as an Advance Planning Director. As Shannon put it, "I love helping people and putting a smile on someone's face when they need it, especially since I have been in those shoes. I want to be someone's rock and get them through a difficult time."

Today, Shannon is happily married to Dave Eakle and has added his four "beautiful" children (Mary, Christopher, Brian & Janie) to her expansive and loving family. Because "eight is not enough", Dave And Shannon have invited two more members into their home - Samson, a 120 lb. Bernese Mountain Dog and Louie, a 10 lb. Cockapoo.

When Shannon is not watching or following one of her children's sporting events, she can be found cooking, reading, and spending time with her close friends. A photography enthusiast and a fan of both golf and tennis, Shannon readily admits that she would be traveling the world with her family if she weren't serving individuals and families as Advance Planning Director at Calvert & Martin Funeral Homes.
