A. Richard Nelson 76 of Argenta, IL passed away 3:07 PM March 27, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL with Pastor Eric Trickey officiating. There will be no visitation, Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL is in charge of arrangements. Richard was born June 13, 1940 in Decatur, IL the son of Nels and Rowena (Hester) Nelson. He married Mary F. Nelson June 9, 1980 in Decatur, IL She passed away September 8, 2012. Survivors include his brother: Donald Nelson, Oreana, IL; sisters: Renee (Ron) Conour, Decatur, IL and Karen (Kenny) Oathout, Kankakee, IL. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews also survive. Richard worked for the Sprinkler Fitters Union Local #669 in Salem, IL. He was an avid Dale Earnhart NASCAR Fan.
