Albert L. "Al" Larsen Obituary (1928 - 2021)

Pontiac - Albert (Al) K. Larsen, Sr., 93, Pontiac, passed at (5:30 pm) Monday (July 5, 2021) at Good Samaritan - Pontiac. Cremation rites will be accorded and graveside inurnment will be at Gridley Cemetery, with military graveside rites, at a private family ceremony. Al was born March 27, 1928 in Winside, Nebraska and was the son of Anna (Olsen) and Christian Larsen. While stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Champaign, he met wife Dorothy Louise (Klein) Larsen who he married on May 11, 1952. Al was married a second time to Linda Lou Sapp, in 2019. Al was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he served in the Air Force. He is survived by his sister Dorthyan March, Pontiac, 6 children, A. Karl (Joann) Larsen, Chicago, John Larsen, Peoria, Charles (Sue) Larsen, Chatsworth, Jeanette Larsen, Pontiac, Mark Larsen, Pontiac and Penny (John) Miller, Rhome, TX, 10 grandchildren, Emily Larsen, Erica Larsen, Shelly Paternoster, Lisa Musser, Mike Gibson, Jessie Larsen, Kelci Larsen, Samantha Larsen, Emmons Ratliff and Elias Ratliff, 10 great grandchildren Kristin, Brendan, Bryson, Karli, Sophie, Matthew, Corianne, Cara, Caitlyn, and Skylar, great, great grandchild Skye, and 7 nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 2 step children, Mary Renee James, Fairbury, and Allen Dean Sapp, Fairbury, and 8 step-grandchildren. Al was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Larry Larsen; granddaughter Lisa Marie Larsen; his wife Dorothy; and second wife Linda.
