Alexis Irene Karna-Johnston of Pekin IL passed away at 6:10 AM on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her residence. Her funeral service will be11:00 AM Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home 1115 E. Washington St., Bloomington, IL. Rev. Steve Evans will be officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Friday, Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to T.A.P.S. No Kill Shelter 100 TAPS Lane, Pekin, IL 61554 Alexis was born July 21, 1992 in Madison, Wisconsin. Surviving are her parents, Sheila and David Johnston, Pekin IL, maternal grandparents, Harvey and Nita Petty, Goodfield, IL, paternal grandparents, Glenn and Ann Johnston, Middleton, Wisconsin, 2 brothers, Jacob Johnston, Los Angeles, CA, Maxwell (fiance Arabella Wiley) Johnston, Madison, Wisconsin, also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins. Alexis is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Irene Petty. Alex was an exceptional human being with outstanding abilities in caring for others. Her compassion for other people and her desire to please was always on display. Her intellect allowed her to solve problems for others with kindness and compassion.
