Anne Powell Obituary (1954 - 2019) - Bloomington, Illinois

Laurie Anne Powell, 64 of Normal passed away at 9:53 PM Monday January 28, 2019 at her home. There will be a celebration of life at 4 PM Friday February 1, 2019 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Normal. Pastor Debbie Reese will officiate. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements. Anne was born March 19, 1954 in Peoria to William and Joanne Crawford Powell. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bruce Powell. She is survived by one nephew Dathan (Abby) Powell of Springfield and their children Finn and Ozzy and one niece Jessica (Chad) Kleinschmidt of Armington and their children Kensie and Cooper. She is also survived by her circle of great friends who were a great support and encouragement to her. Anne was an analyst at State Farm Insurance Company in Bloomington for many years. She retired in 2015. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Normal. After she retired Anne was very generous with her time volunteering at various charitable organizations such as Home Sweet Home Ministries, Relay for Life, Integrity Counseling and her church to name a few. Anne was also an avid quilter and loved to travel. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Sweet Home Ministries in Bloomington.
