Arthur Eugene "Gene" Kiper age 75 of Bloomington IL, passed away at 8:54 AM Friday, June 1, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington IL. His funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Martin Laramie will be officiating. Burial will be Stewart Cemetery, Heyworth, IL. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Gene was born September 12, 1942 in Bloomington, IL the son of Arthur Clant and Dorothy Wheatley Kiper. He married Connie F. Hawk on July 20, 1963 in Bloomington IL. She passed away February 20, 2000. Surviving are his 4 children, Janice L. (William) Walden, Bloomington, IL, Cynthia M. (Jay Sexton) Kiper, Corydon, IN, Tammi L. (Steven) Kendall, McLean, IL, Thomas E. Kiper, Bloomington, IL, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, John (Jodie) Kiper, Kenney, IL, 3 sisters, LaVerne Dickey, Fayetteville, N.C., Kathy (Loren) Dyson, Towanda, IL and Ginny McCurdy, South Haven, Mississippi. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother and a granddaughter Katie Kiper. Gene worked for BroMenn hospital in the laundry department for 40 years. He enjoyed having coffee time with his friends, fishing and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
