Pontiac Dateline: Berniece H. Barrett, 98, of Pontiac, IL, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 7:10pm at Goldwater Nursing Home, Pontiac, IL. Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11:00am at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac with Fr. Bill Keebler officiating. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac, IL. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Memorials in Berniece's name may be made to Goldwater Nursing Home, Pontiac, IL. Berniece was born on September 3, 1924 in Pontiac, IL a daughter of James and Eva (Bromley) Hollahan. She married Leon "Pat" Barrett on April 13, 1946 in Saunemin, IL. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2011. Survivors include two sons: Michael (Peggy) Barrett and Greg (Judy Sweitzer) Barrett both of Pontiac, IL. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl, James and Don Hollahan and four sisters: Eva Kemp, Mary Branz, Reva Lind and Teresa Garland. Berniece graduated from Pontiac High School and was a nurses aid at Humiston Haven Nursing Home in Pontiac for several years.
