Charlotte M. Block Obituary (1935 - 2020)

TOLUCA- Charlotte M. Block , 84, of Toluca, passed away on Saturday January 25, 2020 peacefully surrounded by her family. Her funeral service will be at 11 AM on Friday January 31, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona with Rev. Peter Glock officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church and burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Wenona. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona or the American Cancer Society. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in Toluca is in charge of arrangements. Charlotte was born on December 20, 1935 in Kasson, Minnesota, a daughter to James G. and Florence Vivian Schock Allen. She married Leroy F. Block at Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona on June 6, 1954. He preceded her in death in 2002. Surviving are her children, Debbie (Steve) Clanin, Magnolia; Paul (Janet) Block, Upland, California; Suzy (John) Block-McClure, Kodak, Tennessee, Greg (Jerica) Block, Rancho Cucamonga, California, Jeff (Stacey) Block, Big Bear, California; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Leone Wayman, Washington; brother, Raymond (Nancy) Allen, Jacksonville; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Jerry, Eugene "Scooter", Duane; and 4 sisters, Delores, Norma Jean, Barbara, and Elsie. Charlotte attended Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona. During a time that she was in California, Charlotte worked for the Braille Institute at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, a role that she found very rewarding and had a passion for. She also volunteered every year at St. Ann's Parish in Toluca for the First Communion ceremony and reception. She dedicated her entire life to family to whom she taught so many of life's most important lessons. She was a true friend to everyone she met.
