Constance R. Carstens Obituary (1949 - 2022)

Constance Rae Carstens, 72, of Pontiac, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Calvert and Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac is in charge of the arrangements. Constance was born September 29, 1949, in Pontiac, the daughter of Ezbon "Rammy" and Frances (Speuring) Jacobs. She married Edward Carstens on August 10, 1970, in Rockton, Illinois. He survives in Pontiac. Also surviving are: her children, Tina (Todd Dixon) Molton of Pontiac, and Casey (Meghan Johnson) Carstens of Cornell; her grandchildren, Kassie and Kody Molton, Jocelyn and Connor Carstens, and Clay Gragson; her great grandson, Maxwell Molton; her sister, Pat (Rick) Chamness of Indiana; nephew, Charles (Shannon) Jacobs of Missouri; her great niece, Abby Jacobs of Missouri; and her sister in law, Paula Jacobs of Missouri. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Charles Jacobs; and her niece, Tiffany Chamness. Connie was an avid gardener and a lover of animals. She was a selfless person that dedicated her life to helping others and her family! She was a loving wife that always put her family first. She adored her grandchildren more than anything. She was truly a loving friend to anyone in her life. Memorials can be made to Livingston County Humane Society.
