Cortez C. "Cordy" Owens age 45 of Normal, IL and formerly of Peoria, IL passed away at 5:30 AM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his residence. His funeral service will be 12 Noon Friday, April 20, 2018 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Ed Herald will be officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-12 Noon Friday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to his family for funeral expenses. Cordy was born April 12, 1973 in Peoria, IL the son of Manuel and Geraldine Faulkner Owens, Sr. Cody is survived by his 2 brothers, Manuel Owens, Jr, Peoria, IL, Gary Owens, Peoria, IL 7 sisters, Deborah Owens, Peoria, IL, Joyce (Chester) Brown, Peoria, IL, Evelyn (Kenney) Norris, Normal, IL, Sophia Bates, Normal, IL, Constance (Edward) Owens-Mooney, Normal, IL Louwanda (Romello) Shavers-Owens, Normal, IL and Patricia Johnson, Peoria, IL, Cordy is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Cordy graduated from Jamison School Peoria, IL. He loved to dance and sing. Michael Jackson was his favorite musical artist. Cordy also loved all the holiday's especially his birthday. Cordy like playing on his I-pad and "Face Timing" his family members especially his niece Shica. He was known to greet his family with a hug and a kiss. He will be missed by all who knew him.
