Dan Volle Obituary (1926 - 2021) - Mount Pulaski, Illinois

Dan Volle, 94 of Mt. Pulaski passed away January 9th 2021 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski. Dan was born February 18, 1926, the son of George and Iva Florence (Newburn) Volle, in Champaign Illinois. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Frank and Paul. Dan is survived by his nieces, Janet Broderick of Decatur, Jean Garner (Kevin) of Chatham, Debra Volle of Decatur, Susan Volle of Lakewood Colorado and nephew Richard Volle (LeeAnn), of Mt. Pulaski. Dan attended Mt. Pulaski Grade and High schools, as well as the University of Illinois. Dan was a WWII veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Dan was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pulaski. Dan worked as a bank examiner for the State of Illinois for 4 years, and the Comptroller of the Currency for 4 years. In August of 1957 Dan was hired as Cashier at The Farmers Bank of Mt. Pulaski, and retired as CEO in 2013 after 57 years of service. Dan was a founding board member of Vonderlieth Living Center and served on the board for 41 years. Dan was also a board Member Logan County Park and Trails Foundation for many years. Dan enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. Dan planted countless trees in his lifetime. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery on Saturday January 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials can be made to The Henry and Jane Vonderlieth Foundation or Mt. Pulaski United Methodist Church.
