Darlene M. Tamburini Obituary (1945 - 2019)

Darlene M. Tamburini, 74 of Normal passed away at 9:15 AM on Tuesday October 22, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. There will be a visitation from 12-2 PM Saturday October 26, 2019 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Darlene was born on July 9, 1945 in Chicago to Theodore Alexander Bell Jr and Janice Ellringer. She married Lawrence "Larry" Tamburini on June 26, 1967 in Tinley Park, IL. He survives. Also surviving are her twin children Lisa Tamburini of Chicago and Thomas J. "Tom" (Tina) Tamburini of Zionsville, IN, two grandchildren Jordan Ann and Nicolas "Cole" Tamburini and one brother Theodore Alexander (Ellen) Bell III of Palmdale, CA. Darlene received her master's degree in education from Illinois State University and taught thirty years in Unit 5 Schools. While she was an undergraduate at Illinois State University, she was one of the first female drummers for the Big Red Marching Machine Band. She was a big supporter of NCHS soccer while she was teaching and during the time her husband coached soccer for NCHS. She was also active in her local neighborhood serving as an advocate and supporter of Fell Park. She enjoyed spending time in Fell Park with her friends and family. She will be missed by her family and many friends but her legacy lives on in them.
