David Allen Ashley Obituary (1961

David Allen Ashley, 61, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Historic St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bloomington. A Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Jeffrey Stirniman. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements. David was born in Bloomington on July 3, 1961, to Winfred and Murieldene Ferguson Ashley. They preceded him in death. He married Terri Pacha in Bloomington on November 9, 1985. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Chris Ashley of Royal Oak, MI and Josh (Alexis) Ashley of Fremont, CA, as well as one brother Michael (Mary) Ashley of Naperville, one sister Sandra (Wayne) Stringham of Pooler, GA, and many nieces and nephews. David worked many years for Country Financial. He retired in 2016. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. David had a great sense of humor. He was an avid golfer and loved the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also a voracious reader. David and Terri loved traveling together. He visited 19 countries, 47 states, and 29 national parks. His sense of humor along with his passion for golf, baseball, and travel have been passed to his children. David was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.
