Douglas R. "Doug" Dozier Obituary (1954 - 2019)

Doug Dozier, 65 of rural El Paso, passed away Thursday December 12, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center Normal, IL. Doug was born on October 28, 1954 in Fairbury, IL to Russell and Phyllis (Farney) Dozier. He married Brenda Hoffman on September 5, 2004. She survives. Also surviving a sister, Susan Von Fossen of Lenexa, Kansas. Mother-in-law Carol Hoffman of Congerville, brothers-in-law Bryan (Kim) Hoffman of Danvers, Bryce (Courtney) Hoffman of Minier, sisters-in-law Beth (Mark) Fasse of Minier, Becky (Bob) Bieber of Clinton, 12 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Jerry Hoffman. Doug graduated from Forrest-Strawn-Wing High School and then Southern Illinois University with a degree in Agricultural Education. He taught Ag for a total of 16 years in the Cissna Park, Atkinson & El Paso school districts. He was currently working at Country Financial as a Crop Claims Supervisor where he had worked for the last 30 years. He & Brenda enjoyed farming the land they purchased and fishing at their lake. He was loved and will be missed by many family & friends. A memorial service will be held at Carlock Mennonite Church on Sunday, December 15th at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Olympia High School FFA.
