Earl Edward Pape Obituary (1929 - 2019)

Earl Edward Pape, 89 formally of Decatur, IL., passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 30, 2019 at his home in Bloomington, IL. with his children by his side. Earl was born October 14, 1929, St. Louis, Mo. to Raymond Fredrick Pape and Ruby Hortense Hill. He married Dolores Kreszenz Dandl on July 5, 1952 in St. Louis, Mo. She preceded him in death March 31, 2016. He has a Masters from Missouri School of Mines at Rolla, in Petroleum Engineering. While there he became a member of the Kappa Alpha social fraternity. Earl served as Corporal with the Army Engineering Corps in Korea from 1952 - 1954. He retired from Illinois Power Company in Decatur, IL. in May 1989 after 30 years of service. He is survived by daughter Cynthia Pape of Springfield, IL. son Michael (Teri) Pape of Bloomington, IL., Granddaughters Cami, Marci and Nikki Pape. Earl enjoyed Amateur Radio, photography, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the ISRA, NRA, Orville Dunham Gun Collectors and ARRL (American Radio Relay League). Cremation Rites will be accorded. Earl and Dolores will be buried together at a later date in St. Louis, Mo. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
