Eleanor R. Eft age 95 Normal IL passed away at 8:12 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 At Heritage Health, Normal, IL. Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 6, 2019 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Curt Keller will be officiating. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery, Gridley, IL Visitation will be 2:00 PM-4:00 PM Sunday at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer's Research or Illinois State University College of Nursing. Eleanor was born October 7, 1923 in Gridley, Gridley, IL the daughter of Peter and Minnie Dick Funk. She married Sheldon E. Eft on November 30, 1947 in Bloomington, IL. He passed away June 29, 2006. Surviving are her 4 children, Dennis (Linda) Eft, Hudson, IL, Sharon (Gary) Griswold, New Athens, IL, Lori (Robert) Voss, Verona, WI, Shelly (Jay) Pregler, Hudson, IL, 10 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and her sister in-law, Shirley Funk, Gridley, IL. Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Nelson Funk, a grandson Jason Griswold Eleanor was a member and volunteer at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL. She was a graduate of Mennonite School of Nursing in 1945. Eleanor had volunteered at the David Davis Mansion for many years. She was a woman of faith and lived for her family and grandchildren.
