Esteban Alfonso Sotuyo Obituary (1934 - 2020)

Esteban Alfonso Sotuyo, 85, of Mansfield, Illinois, passed away at 6:35 P.M. Thursday, February 13, 2020, at his residence. His funeral will be held at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Champaign, Illinois, Stake Center, 604 Windsor Road, Champaign, Illinois, with Bishop Jed L. Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at the church. Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery, Provo, Utah. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Mansfield, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements. Esteban was born September 2, 1934, in Brownsville, Texas, a son of Cecilio and Juana Labrada Sotuyo. He married Pauline Kay Reno. Esteban is survived by his children, Benjamin (Sharise Beavers) Sotuyo; Michael Sotuyo; Stephanie (Ted) Casto; Alicia (Steve) Broussard; Jared Sotuyo; Matthew Sotuyo; Adrienne (Ryan) Jaynes; Kari (David) Atkins; Julienne (Mark) Duncan; 20 Grandchildren; Sister, Maria Sotuyo Zuniga. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters. Esteban was a retired High School and College teacher. He also was a retired postal clerk. Esteban was an United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He also was an United States Air Force veteran. Esteban was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mahomet Ward, Champaign, Illinois.
