Esther E. Shrewsbury 86 of Pontiac, IL died Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 4:31AM at Accolade Health Care, Pontiac, IL. Her funeral will be held on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 11:00AM at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Latzke officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery rural Pontiac, IL. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30AM until the hour of services at the funeral home. Memorials in Esther's name may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Chenoa Sunday School Program. Esther was born on December 8, 1930 at Goodfarm, IL., a daughter of August and Lena (Lambert) Denker. She married John R. Shrewsbury on December 7, 1947 in Pontiac, IL. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1996. Survivors include: four sons: John (Linda) Shrewsbury, Michael Shrewsbury and Steven (Stacey) Shrewsbury all of Pontiac, IL; Mark (Debbie) Shrewsbury of Shreve, OH: one daughter: Marcia Wilson of Chenoa, IL; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild: four step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. Esther was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Esther was a nurses aide for over fifty years retiring from Humiston Haven. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Chenoa.
