Eunice Lenora Schupbach Obituary (1921 - 2017)

Eunice Lenora Schupbach, 96, of Bloomington, left this earth in the arms of the angels on Sunday, September 03, 2017 at 3:45am at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Eunice's celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10am at the Evangelical Free Church, Bloomington with her son, Edwin, officiating. Following the service burial will take place at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 5-7pm and an hour prior to the service on Friday. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements. Eunice was born on July 7, 1921 in Morton, Illinois the daughter of John Christian and Alice Otilda (Steffen) Funk. She married Edwin Fred Schupbach on April 21, 1946 in Roanoke, Illinois. He preceded her to Heaven on March 7, 2009. She is survived by her adoring children; Kay (Robert) Ulrich of Washington, IL, Edwin (Leslie) Schupbach of Littleton, CO, Marjorie (Tom) Hansen of Normal, IL, Beth (Bryan) Caldwell of Bloomington, IL, her grandchildren; Jeremy, Jordan, and Jonah Schupbach, Joanna Wang, Hannah and Josiah Hansen, Leah Rauch, Katie and Jake Caldwell, 13 great grandchildren and 2 sisters-In-law; Frieda Schupbach and Rosella Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Eunice was the ultimate hostess and great cook. No one left her home without being well fed; serving others was a tremendous joy for her. A die-hard Cubs fan, Eunice also never gave up on anyone. She was a prolifically creative soul who enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, and playing a masterful game of Scrabble. Eunice worked with her husband as a partner at Schupbach Builders, putting the finishing touches on the homes he built. Her family was everything to Eunice. Her legacy of constant, gentle love was one that could never be outdone. She was the very expression of God's love being poured out onto those around her. A prayer warrior, she longed for others to know the love of Jesus. She lived her life with grace, kindness, generosity and selfless service. Her infectious joy and optimistic spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be terribly missed.
