Floy Alice Shelton age 95 of Bloomington, IL passed away at 1:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2019 at by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Pastor David S. Ratley will be officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 1:00 PM-2:00 PM Friday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to Faith Baptist Church, Bloomington, IL or to Rescue and Reclaim Reformation Ministry, St. Louis, Missouri. Floy was born November 5, 1923 in Springfield, IL the daughter of John and Floy Alice Brooks Denk. She married George W. Shelton on December 21, 1951 in Bloomington, IL. He survives. Also surviving are her 3 children, Terrell (Debbie) Shelton, Phoenix, AZ, Marsha (Ralph) Irmler, Springfield, IL, Mark (Martha) Shelton Columbia, IL,10 grandchildren, Melissa (Danny) Bessie, Phoenix, AZ, Sam (Alexa) Shelton, Phoenix, AZ, Jesse Shelton, Phoenix, AZ, Elissa Irmler, Chatham, IL, Emilie (Daniel) Gaschke, Kenosha, WI, Elena (Amos) Martin, Washington, IL, Erin Irmler, Chatham, IL, Chad Irmler, Springfield, IL,Emmalee (Kamu) Brito, Aiea, Hawaii, Sadie (Steven) Anishnabie, Bloomington, MN and 8 great-grandchildren. Floy is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, John and Gene Denk Floy had a strong faith and was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Bloomington, IL. She had accepted Christ as her Savior on October 10, 1976. She had worked at her parent's restaurant John & Gene's Restaurant, Bloomington, IL. Floy enjoyed baking, needlework and especially doting on her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her "until will meet again."
