Gerald "Kevin" Smith Obituary (1959 - 2022)

Gerald "Kevin"Smith, 63 of Stanford, passed away at 7:35 am Saturday March 12, 2022 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal. Kevin was born February 25, 1959 in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of Herold Dean & Marjorie Ann (Norton) Smith. He is survived by his daughter: Mandy (Neil) Eimer; four grandchildren: Tyler Allen, Audrey Allen, Jackson Eimer and Ryan Eimer; three brothers: Gary Smith, Steven (Kim) Smith and Michael Smith; one sister: Pamella (Michael) Boitnott; and nieces & nephews: Chad , Robbie, Stephanie and Megan. He is preceded in death by his parents. Kevin was an operator for Carri Scharf Trucking for many years. He was an outdoorsman who selflessly helped his neighbors, friends and family members without hesitation. He traveled all over the country often with his Harley. He loved to go down to the family farm in Kentucky with his brothers and nephews to work-on and ride four-wheelers and motorcycles. He loved his friends, family daughter and grandchildren with all of his heart. Kevin was a man with a big heart, he is missed and forever loved by us all. His funeral service will be 3:00 pm Thursday March 17th at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home. Rev. Steve Evans will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded afterwards.
