Harold F. "Hal" Gullett Obituary (1930 - 2019)

Harold F. "Hal" Gullett, 89 of Normal, passed away at 2:07 am Saturday August 17, 2019 at his residence. His funeral will be at 10:00 am Saturday August 31, 2019 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home. Visitation will be Friday August 30th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service at 6:30 pm by the Bloomington Masonic Lodge 43 Wade Barney. Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 31st at Lyman Township Cemetery, Roberts, Illinois. Hal was born April 6, 1930, the son of Elias & Irene Gullett, in Roberts, Illinois. He married Marjorie Mae Killip on June 10, 1951 in Roberts, Illinois. She preceded him in death in 2008. He is survived by 1 daughter, Connie Gullett of Normal. Hal was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother Jerry, a younger brother Bill and a sister Evelyn. Hal and his wife owned and operated the Coral Cup Restaurant, Chatsworth, IL. and the Coral Saucer, Melvin, Il. for many years; they had catered food service for the Ford County Fair and the Kankakee County Fair for over 30 years; was Food Administrator at ISU for over 30 years; was the Director of Food and Beverage Service for Bloomington Elks Lodge No 281 for 4 years. Hal held many positions; he was the Past DDGM of 4th Eastern District and WM of Chatsworth Masonic Lodge Centennial 1967; Past Officer of Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shrine 54 years; American Passion Play Cast Member for 52 years; Current President Afscme Subchapter 79; Current Northern Vice President Afscme Chapter 31; Current International Afscme Retiree Council and Past President Illinois Alliance for Retired Americans. Hal held many certificated for Loyalty, Dedication, Service and Motivation from various events over the years; including the Milton M. Cohen Award from Illinois Citizen Action for Lifetime Achievement 10-27-2001. Memorials may be made to the American Passion Play, Humane Society, BPCA or to the Bloomington Masonic Lodge 43 Wade Barney.
