Harold Franklin Reynolds Obituary (1931

Harold Franklin Reynolds, 87 of Bloomington, passed away at home snuggled in his wife's arms on Valentines Day, Thursday, February 14, 2019, after 51 years of their being married. Harold's graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11am at Park Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomington with Pastor Chad Sparks officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Bloomington/Normal American Legion honor guard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mennonite College of Nursing or Covell Community Church. Harold was born on October 3, 1931 in Bloomington to Clarence F. and Florence Mary (Probus) Reynolds. He married Martha Jean Kauffman on May 26, 1967 in Covell. Harold is survived by his wife Martha, their children, Suzanne (Brian) Fitzgerald, Bloomington and Harold E. (Katherine) Reynolds, Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren, Katelyn (Michael) McDowell, Joseph Fitzgerald, Andrew and Alyssa Reynolds. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Norman Cavanaugh. Harold served in the US Air Force serving with the 47th Bomb Wing Squadron. Harold maintained his relationship with his squadron and they would get together at their yearly reunion in which one reunion was in Washington DC a few days after 9/11. He was a Formula 1 racing fan and enjoyed the Indianapolis 500 from the time he was young attending the time trials with his dad and enjoyed introducing his children's friends to the sport. He retired from Illinois Power Company (Ameren) as an Electrical Engineer for 35 years and he was Past President of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.
