Howard E. Steffen Obituary (1934

GRIDLEY- Howard E. Steffen, 85, of Gridley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 10:01 PM on Thursday August 29, 2019 at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center in Normal. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday September 6, 2019 at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso . Calvert -Johnson & Froelich Memorial Homes in El Paso is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Secor United Methodist Church. Howard was born in rural Gridley on April 7, 1934, a son to Ed and Edith Gibbs Steffen. He married Evelyn Rich in Georgia on March 16, 1957. She survives. Also surviving are his 2 daughters, Cindy (Michael) Rust, Secor; Amy (Michael) Haerr, Eureka; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cleo Bradd, Cooksvile. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Eugene Steffen, and 3 sisters, Ruth and Aldene Steffen and Vera Cox. Howard served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict Era. He attended the Secor United Methodist Church and was a farmer all his life.
