Hubert H. Gerth Obituary (1925 - 2019)

Hubert H. Gerth, 94, of Chatsworth, IL passed away at 3:35 am on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Gibson City Annex. Hubert was a lifetime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 7, 2019 with Pastor Mauricio Vieira officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will immediately follow services at Chatsworth Cemetery. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth is handling services for the family. He was born February 22, 1925 in Chatsworth, IL a son of Herman F. and Wesalena (Taden) Gerth. Hubert married Harriet L. Wilkerson on December 31, 1943 and were married for 63 years. She passed away on October 19, 2006. Hubert is survived by his children: Tom (Kay) Gerth and Linda Kinney both of Chatsworth, IL; his grandchildren: Kelli (Chris) Matlock and Eric (Lori) Gerth both of LeRoy, IL, Chris (Shanna) Gerth of Washington, IL, Brad Kinney and Tyler Kinney both of Chatsworth, IL; his great grandchildren: Meghan, Jordan and Brandon (Hannah) Matlock, Morgan (Aaron) Martin, Macy, Halle, Caleb and Jacob Gerth, Kendall and Emmy Gerth; and great-great grandchildren: Liam and Isla Matlock. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister: Erma Scherer. He was born and raised in Chatsworth and graduated from Chatsworth High School. Hubert farmed all his life and also raised Angus cattle. Hubert and Harriet were members of the Angus Association. He enjoyed welding and making farm innovations that made work easier. Hubert was a loving dad, grandpa, great grandpa, great-great grandpa and friend that will be missed and remembered. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth, Gibson City Annex or a charity of the donor's choice.
