Jackie D. "Jack" Mott age 78 Normal IL and formerly of Colfax, IL passed away at 11:30 PM on Monday, June 4, 2018 at his residence. His funeral service will be 3:30 PM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Brent Salm will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax IL. Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 PM on Saturday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Memorials may be made to his family c/o daughter, Paula Rizner 1102 Lockenvitz Lane Apt. 5 Bloomington, IL 61704 Jack was born on June 15, 1939 in Colfax, IL the son of Willard Edward and Ruth Eliza Paul Mott. He married Katherine Elizabeth Downey on September 22, 1962 in Colfax, IL. She passed away March 27, 2013. Surviving are his 2 children, David Mott, Normal, IL, Paula Renee Rizner, Bloomington, IL 2 grandchildren, Shawn Mott, Bloomington, IL, Heidi Mott, Chicago, IL 2 sisters, Patricia Vaughn, Oklahoma City, OK, Linda (Cliff) Sawyer, Newcastle, OK. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Ronnie (Gloria) Mott and Danny Mott in infancy. Jack graduated from Octavia High School in 1958, Colfax, IL. He served his country from 1962-1964 graduating from Quartermaster School, 14 months of his service was spent in association of the Korean Military Advisory Group of Tague Korea. He was in charge of the dependent housing during his service. He retired from Eureka Williams in 1999 after 41 years of service. He was a member of the union local #1000. Jack was an avid fisherman and had a great love for country and bluegrass music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & brother. He will be remembered for his quick wit which brought many a laugh and his joyful singing. He will be missed by all who knew him.
