Johanna Pearl Gaul-Hilman Obituary (1940 - 2022)

Johanna Pearl Bosma Gaul Hilman, 82, died peacefully on June 24, 2022, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Jo, as she was so often called, was born April 1, 1940, to Garett and Henrietta Bosma in Corsica, SD. She was preceded in death by her brother, Herb Bosma and sister, Pearl Larson. Jo had three sons and two daughters with her first husband, Alvin Gaul (deceased): Michael Gaul (deceased); Julienne Gaul (deceased); Steven Gaul (Le Roy, IL); his two sons, Jacob Gaul and Austin Gaul; Brigadier General Mark Gaul (Austin,TX) his son, Nathan Gaul; daughter, Jeanette Gaul (Sioux Falls, SD) and her son, Michael Gaul and Jo's only great-grandson, Jackson Gaul. Jo later married James Hilman who she had no children with. Jo will be inurned at St Adrian Cemetery in Adrian, MN at a later date. The family is planning to have a Celebration of Life sometime in the future. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 11 AM to 2 PM at 291 E. Bicentennial Dr., LeRoy, IL. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, is in charge of arrangements.
