John J. Langhoff, Sr. Obituary (1926 - 2022)

John J. Langhoff Sr., 95, of Pontiac, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at Reflections of Holly brook in Streator, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, in rural Pontiac, Illinois. Calvert and Martin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. John was born on February 1, 1926, in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of William and Daisy (Simmons) Langhoff. He married Kathryn Reiners on May 16, 1947. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2020. He is survived by his daughter, Malba Nehrt of Towanda; his son, John (Jeanette) Langhoff II of Blackstone; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pontiac, American Legion of Cornell, and The Farmers Bureau. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a lifelong farmer in the Pontiac and Blackstone areas. He was a strong-willed and simple man. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him.
