Joseph "Joe" Dewey Jamison Obituary (1964 - 2020)

Joseph "Joe" Dewey Jamison, 55, died Monday, August 17, 2020, at his home in Bloomington, Illinois. Joe was born December 15, 1964, in Gibson City, Illinois, to Verl and Barbara Ensign Jamison. He grew up in Saybrook, Illinois. He is survived by his daughter, Laci Jamison of Catlin, Illinois; sons, Cody Jamison of Bloomington, Illinois, Logan (Nicole) Jamison of Downs, Illinois, Joseph Dillon Jamison of St. Joseph, Illinois, and Verl Grant Jamison of Bloomington, Illinois; grandchildren, Roland Chambers, of Catlin, Illinois, Wyatt and Norah Jamison of Downs, Illinois, and Eli and Harlon Jamison of Le Roy, Illinois; one brother, Johnny (Kathy) Jamison of Saybrook, Illinois; sisters, Patricia (Ed) Johnson of Saybrook, Illinois, Shari Oakley of Bloomington, Illinois, and Tammy (Brian) Staley of Bloomington, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by both parents; one son, Heath Robert Jamison; one brother, Verl Jamison; and one niece, Christina Jamison. Joe was like a father/uncle to so many people who were in his life. He never knew a stranger. Joe enjoyed teaching his kids sports and life lessons. He loved fishing and hanging out with his good friends. He loved his grandchildren more than anything. Joe was such a strong-willed man, raising five children on his own. Per Joe's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 4:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M. Monday, August 24, 2020, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 6:30 P.M. Monday, August 24, 2020, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois.
