Josephine E. Hastings Obituary (1925 - 2020)

Josephine E. Hastings, 94, Bloomington, passed away at 1:28am on Saturday (Jan. 4, 2020) at Heritage Health, Bloomington. Private graveside inurnment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, with Rev. Trey Haddon officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Wednesday (January 8, 2020) at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, or a charity of the donor's choice. Mrs. Hastings was born April 18, 1925 in Normal, Illinois, a daughter of Deane C. and Matilda Opperman Birckelbaw. She married Eugene T. Hastings on Jan. 1, 1950 at First Presbyterian Church in Danvers. He passed away Jan. 23, 2011. She is survived by a daughter, Anne (Timothy) Fiedler, and a grandson, Matthew Fiedler, all of Evansville, Indiana. A brother, Deane O. Birckelbaw, preceded her in death. Mrs. Hastings was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington. She formerly was employed at Chicago Motor Club and American State Bank. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL is in charge of arrangements.
