Kaitlyn M. "Katie" Erdman, 25, of Chenoa and formerly of Bloomington, IL died at 7:12 p.m. Friday June 15, 2018 in an accident on Southbound 55 near Lexington, IL Cremation Rites were accorded and a celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Thursday June 21, 2018 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington with Rev. Lauro Acevedo officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial Home. Memorials may be made to Education fund for Tinley. Kaitlyn was born December 1, 1992 in Normal, IL the daughter of Jeffrey L. and Rebecca K. Johnson Erdman. Surviving are her mother Becky Erdman of Bloomington, Fiancee Oscar E. Flores with whom she made her home with in Chenoa; his parents Roland and Paulina Flores of Fairbury; one daughter Tinley Flores the love of her life at home; one brother Jacob (Nichole Lanham) Erdman of Bloomington; one niece Grace Erdman and one nephew Landen Erdman; maternal grandmother Rosemary Johnson of Bloomington; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Dad Jeff, Grandparents Robert and Delores Erdman, Eugene "Jeep" Johnson, and a cousin Tyler Johnson. Katie was in her third year of the Nursing Program at Methodist in Peoria and worked as an OB Tech at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. She graduated from Bloomington High School where she was on the Pom Pon Squad. Kaitlyn was such a beautiful person, inside and out. She was strong, determined, and so compassionate and selfless. Katie enjoyed helping people and knew that a nursing was the best way for her to provide care for others. Katie also volunteered at the Peoria Rescue Mission. She was an amazing mom, fiancee, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. She recently won a "Women of Distinction" WINGS award for her hard work, determination in working full time, raising Tinley and getting ready to start her last year of nursing school. Katie loved to go to Hobby Lobby and enjoyed doing arts and crafts projects for home and had no fear in tackling new projects.
