Kevin M. Kempin Obituary (1956 - 2019)

Kevin M. Kempin age 62 of Normal IL passed away at 9:58 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital, Galesburg, IL. His funeral service will be 10:30 AM Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Steve Evans will be officiating. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Kevin was born September 10, 1956 in Bloomington, Illinois the son of Siegfried and Ida McLeese Kempin. He married Renee Lindsay on July 4, 1981 in Bloomington, IL. She survives. Also surviving is his mother, Ida Kempin, Bloomington, IL, 3 sisters, Karen Kempin McCarey, Bloomington, IL, Debra (Steve) Grant, Bloomington, IL, Dori Kempin, Bloomington, IL and several nieces and nephews. Kevin is preceded in death by his father a nephew Nick Grant, his in-laws Ed & Ann Lindsay and sister in-law, Holly Kendrick. Kevin graduated from Bloomington High School in 1974. He started working at Harjack Motors and continued working in the automotive field and currently he has managed Jopac Automotive, Bloomington, IL. He was a big sports fan, he especially enjoyed golf and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears Fan. Kevin was a member the " The Wild Bunch" a Cub's Fan Club. He organized and golfed in "the tour" every other Sunday with his friends. Kevin was a loving son, husband, brother, uncle and friend.
