Leota Marie Kaufman age 87 of Bloomington, IL passed away at 5:08 AM on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL. Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Pastor Chuck Bahn will be officiating. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers, IL. Visitation will be 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Leota was born December 31, 1930 in Danvers, IL the daughter of Carl E. and Marie Schultz Kath Sr. She married William Warren "Bill" Kaufman on April 25, 1954 in Danvers, IL. He passed away March 6, 2011. Surviving are her 3 children, Ronald Kaufman, Bloomington, IL, Jean Ann Kaufman, Bloomington, IL, Sheryl (Tom) Hawk, Bloomington, IL, 5 Grandchildren, Jason, Ronald, Jr., Angie, Sheila and Stacy,4 great-grandchildren, Malik, Jackson, Maliyah and Sydney and 1 brother, Carl E. (Chris) Kath, Jr., Morton, IL. Leota is preceded in death by parents and 1 brother and 4 sisters. Leota had worked as telephone operator in Danvers and she later worked at Birckelbaw's Orchard and had retired from Beer Nuts, Bloomington, IL. She was of the Lutheran faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew her.
