Lorena M. Bane (nee Rutherford) Obituary (1925 - 2020)

Lorena M. Bane (nee Rutherford), 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Warren E. Bane for 35 years. Loving mother of Sylvia (Randy) Bane Malta; cherished grandmother of Marissa Malta; dear sister of Robert (Dorothy) Rutherford and Erma Sutton; dear aunt of Linda (Gary), Denise, Cheryl (Don), Vernon (Paula) Satchwell, and Randy; dear friend to many. Lorena was a Registered Nurse for most of her life, practicing up until the age of 85. Her nursing career began in the Army Nurses Cadet Corps during WWII after graduating from Decatur Macon County School of Nursing. She was very active in church and civic organizations. In her spare time, Lorena enjoyed reading and knitting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. SERVICES: A funeral was held on Friday, March 13, 2020, at New Hope Presbyterian Church, St. Peters, MO. Interment will take place on Saturday, March 14, 1:30 PM, at Dawson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions appreciated to Heifer International. A reception will be held at the LeRoy United Methodist Church immediately following interment.
