Lorene Vanover Obituary (1941 - 2018)

Lorene Vanover, 77, an angel on this earth, in the shape of our mom, flew home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 19th. She was born in Cyclone, West Virginia and was the second child of thirteen. She resided in Cropsey, IL, with her husband. She spent her life imitating Christ, loving everyone she met and generously giving of her time and resources to serve others. She used her hands and feet to serve the Lord and prayed for others incessantly. She married the love of her life 58 years ago and gave birth to eight children and adopted many more. She was an ordained minister who, with her husband, volunteered her time preaching and singing in nursing homes, teaching adult Sunday school, and provided leadership in the church by being an elder and ministering to the church; undoubtedly, "the way she lived spoke louder than words...the time she spent on earth was the best sermon we ever heard." She is survived by her sweetheart, Mont Vanover Jr., her children, Linda (Clint) Bell, Dan (Sara) Vanover, Monte Vanover, Terry (Jen) Vanover, Penny (Brian) Pittman, Vickie Vanover, Elizabeth (Anya) Hatfield, and Justin Vanover. She has 23 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Vanover, her son, Paul Vanover, and 4 of her brothers and sisters, and her parents, Lloyd and Sadie Hatfield. She will be treasured in our hearts forever. Her funeral will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at River of Life Outreach Church, Meadows with Pastor Tim Moats and Pastor David Heath officiating, burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the church. Memorial Contributions in her name may be made to the River of Life Outreach Church.
