Lorraine S. Frobish Obituary (1936 - 2017)

Lorraine S. Frobish, 81, of Flanagan, IL passed away at 7:22 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at her home. Cremation rites were accorded and a memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan with Rev. Paul Lellelid officiating. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Church or OSF Hospice. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. Lorraine was born April 8, 1936 in Flanagan, IL the daughter of Henry and Eliese Rients Gueldenhaar. She married Melvin J. Frobish on September 26, 1954 at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan. He survives along with three children Ann (William) Parsons of Rockford, James (Robin) Frobish of Flanagan, and Mark (Susan) Frobish of Urbana; one brother Lester (Geri) Gueldenhaar of Flanagan; seven grandchildren Amanda, James, Justin, Joy, Jessie, Benjamin, and Victoria; and four great grandchildren Aaron, Shana, Camron, and Liam. She was preceded in death by her parents. Lorraine was a lifelong member of St. Petri Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed, married, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and did Chalk Talks. She worked in the kitchen at the Good Samaritan home for over 25 years and farmed with her husband, Melvin. She enjoyed baking and created many delicious cakes for weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays. She was a long arm quilter and made many quilts. She and Melvin embroidered name tags for the Road Runner trips. They took over a 125 through the Flanagan State Bank. She enjoyed genealogy and kept family history for the Frobish, Zehr, and Rients families. She was a loving wife, mom, sister, grandma and great grandma who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
