Lyle Eugene Hastings Obituary (1927 - 2019)

Lyle Eugene Hastings, 92, of Bloomington, Illinois, formerly of Arrowsmith, Illinois, passed away at 9:20 P.M. Thursday, November 28, 2019, at Bickford of Bloomington. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, December 6, 2019, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois, with Pastor Bobby Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Friday, December 6, 2019, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arrowsmith Christian Church or Ellsworth United Methodist Church. Mr. Hastings was born November 23, 1927, in Highland, Illinois, to Elbert and Ruth Roberts Hastings. He married Jacky June McConkey on May 20, 1947, in Arrowsmith, Illinois. She survives in Bloomington, Illinois. He is also survived by his two sons, Cloyd (Diane) Hastings of McKinney, Texas, and Kendall (Linda) Hastings of Cary, Illinois; two granddaughters, Kirstin (Jeffrey) Murphy of Sycamore, Illinois, and Brittany (Anthony) Stefani of Cary, Illinois; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Annis (Paul) Rogers of Chandler, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Kyle Hastings. Lyle was a retired school superintendent from Big Hollow Ingleside, Illinois. He was a member of the Ellsworth United Methodist Church.
