Paul Arthur Wendland Obituary (1938 - 2022)

Paul Arthur Wendland, 83 of Bloomington, formerly of LeRoy, passed away at 7:58 am Friday July 29, 2022 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Illinois. Paul was born October 8, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Robert J. & Irma (Keuter) Wendland, Sr. He married Agnes Bradley on June 18, 1960 at Durward's Glen in Baraboo, Wisconsin. She survives. Also surviving are three children: Timothy (Cheryl) Wendland of Mclean, Kara (Rob) Jones of Bloomington and Matt (Holly) Wendland of Stanford and two grandchildren: Shelby Wendland of Chicago and Emma Wendland of Stanford. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Robert J. Wendland, Jr. and one sister: Margaret Hamilton. Paul relocated from Chicago with Country Life Insurance Company in 1961 and retired in 1996 after 40 years of loyal service. A diehard Cubs and Bears fan, he relished their World Series and Superbowl victories. Once you met Paul, you never forgot him. He loved joking around and giving people a hard time. Even throughout his recent health struggles he always maintained his sense of humor. The family wishes to thank the staff at Carle BroMenn Medical Center for their care of Paul in his final weeks. His funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday August 2nd at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesday prior to the services.
