Richard J. "Rick" Parker Obituary (1950 - 2018)

Richard J. "Rick" Parker, 67, of Dwight, passed away at 7:50 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Joliet Area Community Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday January 13, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dwight, Rev. Harvey Nicholson will officiate, burial will follow in McDowell Cemetery, Dwight. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 pm On Friday, January 12, 2018 at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight and for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials in Ricks name may be left to Joliet Area Community Hospice. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is handling the arrangements. Rick was born in Morris, Illinois on November 14, 1950 a son of James and Kathleen (Underhill) Parker, He married Patrice Beverlin On January 9, 1981 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Herscher, Illinois, she survives. Other survivors include two sons: Anthony (Melinda Ramistella) Parker of Rochester, Illinois and CJ (Laura) Parker of Hamler, OH; three grandchildren: Brystol, Brielle and Briggs; one brother: Robert (Beverly) Parker of Dwight, IL; three sisters: Carol Parker of Lincoln, IL, Lynne (Jeff) Bertrand of Bloomington, IL and Sandy (Robert) Farrell of Dwight, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Cathy Gearhart. Rick graduated from Dwight High School in 1968 and was a member of the undefeated 1967 Dwight Football Team, he then graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Ag Mechanization. Rick loved farming, riding his Harley and spending time with his family.
