Robert Lee "Bob" Milner age 83 of Bloomington IL and formerly of Pekin passed away at 4:08 AM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his residence. His funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Calvary United Methodist Church 1700 N. Towanda Ave Normal IL. Rev. Debbie Reese and Rev. Judy Doyle will be officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington IL. Visitation will be 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Monday, June 25, 2018 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL and from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or First United Methodist Church, Pekin, IL. Bob was born January 22, 1935 in Henning, IL the son of Edgar William "Bill" and Julia Nellie Story Milner. He married Betty Mae Houmes on November 7, 1954 in Hoopeston, IL. She passed away November 24, 2003. Surviving are his 2 children, Richard "Rick" (Melodee ) Milner, Normal, IL, Jacquelyn "Jackie" (Mike) White, Bloomington, IL, 4 grandchildren, Aaron White, Aloha, Oregon, Ashley (Chance) Smiley, Bloomington, IL, Allison Milner, Normal, IL, Beth White, Peoria, IL, 1 brother, George (Elizabeth) Milner, Danville, IL,1 sister in-law, Christina Milner, Brownsburg, IN, 2 step-brothers, George Wayne (Vonnie) Dodson, Colleyville, TX, Don (Bonnie) Dodson, Northborough, MA, 2 step-sisters, Elaine Tarter, Ft. Branch, IN and Mary Kay (Mike) Cannon, Oakwood, IL. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Paul Milner. Bob graduated in 1952 from Henning High School, Henning, IL. He had worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria, IL for 40 years retiring in 1992. Bob was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis, Bloomington, IL, Celestial City Campers and Jaycees Pekin, IL. He was a 50 year plus member at the First United Methodist Church, Pekin, IL. Bob was a former Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed playing poker at the ARC Center, Normal, IL. He and Betty were coaches for Destination Imagination, Bloomington, IL. Bob was a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
